Great work, as usual Buuzen! He's looks so..... samurai! Lone Wolf comes to mind for some reason.
Samurai snob corner:
Well, some constructive criticism again with Samurai in general on the technical/historical level.
The katana is generally sheathed edge up after the Heian period and the role of cavalry in the battlefield started to decline (on foot, it's easier and faster to draw and cut with the edge up). I know the draw is sometimes done edge down in a few iaijutsu techniques, but they require a much lower stance and are usually twisted down from the edge-up position only at the last second. Of course, i'm assuming the edge is up in the picture since the cutting edge is usulaly the broader of the two halves of a sword.
The katana size is also a little short unless that is a kodachi, wakizashi or o-wakizashi (which would also explain the lack of a curve). I've heard of a school of swordsmanship that employs especially short swords, so if that is the case, i have no complaint. If this is not the case, the rule of thumb with katana sizes is that if you stand the sword vertically from the ground, the handle should end at the user's lowest rib.
Trivia: Mushashi Miyamoto was over 6 feet tall and because of his unusual height and the lack of katanas to match his size, he favored the use of a 'tachi,' an older model of katana designed for horsemen. Although sizes vary, the tachi are generally longer and more curved than ordinary katana. Not many remember this about him since he tended to use whatever he found as a dueling weapon (fence posts, oars, etc.)
